Friend of Our Community, The number of Americans who suffer from addiction is at an astounding high. According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 19.7 million American adults (aged 12 and older) battled a substance use disorder in 2017.
City of Angels is an independent 501c3 organization. We are run solely by the dedication of our many volunteers. We are moving in the direction of assisted post-treatment care in addition to providing recovery coaching, interventions, family support, and assistance to individuals and families in need, for which we do not charge.
One out of every seven people will develop a substance use disorder at some point in their lives. The City of Angels volunteers have worked tirelessly over the last ten years to be part of the solution as we carry out the message of recovery. We have acquired over 350 recovery coaches, many of whom are in long-term recovery and are NARCAN certified. It is through the hearts of these volunteers and the faith of City of Angels’ founder, Kevin Meara, that we have been able to help hundreds of families in need.
City of Angels was founded in January 2009, after having identified the needs in our community of the addicted and their families for increased support. This November, we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in the form of a gala and are hereby soliciting donations and/or silent auction items; we humbly ask for your support.
